Welcome to my Wallander pimp! I'm not going to lie - as much as I absolutely adore this show, it is one of the most depressing series I've ever seen. So the caveat to my pimp is this - yes, do watch Wallander, but only when you're in a healthy frame of mind because seriously, this show will get you down. Still with me? Good. On with the pimpage!

Here's a little resource-post for Stieg Larsson's Millennium Trilogy. There's actually a lot of fanworks floating around on this fandom, but there's few central points to go look for it. Here's some of what I found:

A short review of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo over at [livejournal.com profile] bookish, by [livejournal.com profile] make_meabird.
A comprehensive review of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo over at ScandinavianBooks.com, including background and facts about the author. An interesting read, for sure.

A review of Swedish movie The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (Män som hatar kvinnor) (2009) on [livejournal.com profile] eddaxs_movies.
A poll on the Swedish movie The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo on [livejournal.com profile] amovieaday, with very good overall rating, so far. :)

Info about the move productions and actors are to be found on ONTD:The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo/Stieg Larsson News and on the LiveJournal community [livejournal.com profile] rooneymara - Rooney Mara Daily. Rooney Mara Daily also has screencaps and graphics from the Fincher films.

A handful of fanfic are to be found on Archive Of Our Own: Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
Lots more, including crossovers, have residence at Fanfiction.net: Millennium Trilogy.

Add your own Millennium-resources and fanworks in the comments, or make a new post of it! \o/ (A picspam would be nice,,, or perhaps some icons?)

Aslak Nore and Asbjørn Slettemark are two Norwegian journalists and editors that also have their own crime blog. As they have good connections, their blog is filled with newsworthy articles, authors, actors and interesting stuff for the Nordic crime connoisseur. The blog is in Norwegian.

From their blurb: "…men mest av alt håper vi du liker nerding rundt krim og thriller og spionhistorier like mye som oss, og kommer med tilbakemeldinger i kommentarfeltene."

Beneath the cuts are two Varg Veum fanfic. The first has teen-up rating and the second is gen (slash if you squint). The labels are in Norwegian.

Fioler er blå (Violets Are Blue)  )

Den som sover (The One Who Sleeps) )

When I was doing my research I went through all the Veum-dialog I could get hold of.  The most inspiring quotations are gathered here (in Norwegian). Especially Veum/Hamre-enthusiasts should pay attention to these. ;)

I have also set up a Varg Veum-biography, a Jakob E. Hamre-biography and a Veum-timeline. (All in Norwegian.) Lots of useful stuff for others contemplating writing Veum fanfic, in other words. :D

Varg Veum is the central character in a series of crime novels, written by Gunnar Staalesen, about a private detective who lives in Bergen, on the west coast of Norway. The books have been translated into several languages, including English, German, Swedish, and Danish.

The eleventh Varg Veum movie De døde har det godt, had its Norwegian premiere January 20. 2012. It got mixed reception, but here is at least a nice picture from it. More pictures from the Varg Veum movie productions.
