I picked Viggo in the poll (based mainly on his brilliance in A History of Violence), but...I can rather see Rupert Graves in the role too, tbh!

I remain nervously excited about this adaptation ;)

ASkars is a fine actor indeed (I LOVE Gen Kill!), he just doesn't match the Hole in my head...? Too young/too conventional sex symbol perhaps? At any rate I certainly hope they cast someone with some Scandinavian roots at least, but I am biased like that!

Mind, I have only read a couple of the books, and not Snowman, so what do I know anyway, hehe ;p

Part of me can see why people are picking Alexander Skarsgård, but I can't help thinking he's a little too handsome to play Harry. ;) Or maybe my mental image of Harry is what's causing that. I voted for Paul Bettany, because he is closest to my mental image of Harry (and I've actually toyed with the idea before I saw the news about the Scorsese version.). I'm sure Alexander is talented enough, so it's not a question of doubting his skills. I considered Mads Mikkelsen as well, but his features are a little too sharp. Yes, I'm that picky. *g* Micke Persbrandt could work, but to me, any cop he plays traces back to Gunvald. Henrik Mestad is fairly close to my mental image of Harry, but it's a pity he's said (in the second Dagbladet article) he can't play him.

(Maybe Alexander could play Halvorsen? :D)

Okay, you have a good point there. Mads could definitely capture the darker aspects of Harry's character. And he snarks like nobody's business, too.

I have to say "pretty" isn't one of the first words to spring to mind when considering Persbrandt, but you have a point there too. *g* There's that degree of... well, Swedish has tvålfager, which is pretty close to what I mean.

Gunvald is more grounded than Harry, yes, and when he flies off the handle, it's not in the same way as when Harry rages. (Mind, this is based on the first three novels, that's as far as I've got. I'll probably read the fourth one this week.) Stormare? Hmm, he could have worked (he even has the right amount of ruggedness to his looks) had he been younger...

Too many good choices! Is Trond Espen Seim too old/gray-haired now? :) I chose Paul Bettany; he fits the physical description, he's an excellent actor, and I want him to get more prominent and cool roles.
